July 29th Backpack to School Bash at FUMC

We are hosting the 2nd annual community Backpack to School Bash to help the families of Union County prepare for the school year. This event is in collaboration with Union County Family Connections and other participating churches and businesses. Help us make this a blessing for all the children who come to “shop” for school supplies and back bags. The collection bins are in the Narthex and MAC desk area along with “needs sheets.” We will also accept financial donations directly through July. FUMC has been invited to provide 200 of the small child book bags. Help us reach and exceed that goal. Let’s show our community our heart for the kids!

Stephen Ministry Prayer / Healing Service as we kick off Wed Nights

On Wednesday, August 16th the Stephen Ministry is holding a prayer/healing service to pray for our teachers, support staff and students as they begin a new school year. All are invited.

STAFF ADDITIONS

As announced in church yesterday, we have hired 3 new staff members. The first is our CEC Director Heidi Hall. Heidi is already hard at work getting prepared for the start of the new school year. We also hired Donna Fredericks as our new Nursery Director. Lastly, we hired Jennifer de la Montagne as our new Youth Director. Please be patient with these new staff members as they each jump into their new roles. Let’s show them what a wonderful church family they have joined.

Young At Heart “Bunco Fellowship” Friday, August 11th 6:00 pm

In the Fellowship Hall - Everyone should bring an appetizer or a dessert. $2.00 per person donation. Bunco has been played in America at least since the 1800’s. It’s a game centered around three dice and usually three sets of four players, averaging a standard group of 12. It is a game of pure luck; no real skill is required other than rolling the dice. However, the game is played in upbeat and social settings involving a lot of eating and fellowship, so there is always plenty to do! Grab a friend and join us!

Video Volunteer Needed

We are still in need of ONE MORE PERSON to help with our 11 am service videotaping. If you are interested, please let the church office know. We will train you. No experience necessary. Just a willing spirit.
