I hope several of you got a chance to say hello to our District Superintendent Sunday (Rev. Richard Chewning.) Richard and his family worshipped with us at the 11 am service. Richard has recently announced his retirement. I know this church will always have fond memories of Richard - he helped this church get through a very difficult season of life five years ago. Bishop Sue announced Richard’s replacement yesterday. Her name is Rev. Dr. Alice Rogers. Alice has been a well known leader in our North Georgia Conference for many, many years. She will be leaving her role as Senior Pastor of Glenn Memorial UMC (on the Emory Campus) to become the new Gainesville District Superintendent. Alice will be sitting beside Richard through the spring appointment cycle to learn the process. They will make the official “hand off” at Annual Conference in June. Please add Rev. Dr. Alice Rogers to your prayers (and Richard and his family too) as they all prepare for this transition of life. God’s Joy, pastor mark

Consider Anchoring Yourself to Something Rock Solid:
Have you been worshipping with us for some time? Have you found a church home where you encounter the Holy? Maybe it’s time to take that next step. Prayerfully consider uniting with what Jesus is doing through us here at FUMC of Union County. You are invited to put your faith anchor down here. If you feel that now is the time, simply make an appointment to spend some time with pastor mark. He can answer whatever questions you may have. We are family here at this place of grace. And you are invited to come be part of the family with us. The Church Office phone is 706-745-2073 - ask for Evelyn - tell her you wish to make an appointment to see the pastor about membership. She is here during the day Monday through Thursday and Friday mornings.
