I will kick off another iteration of United Methodist 101 classes (a 4-6 week study) with a very special conversation on United Methodist Polity - and how that polity is being used to navigate the human sexuality question our denomination is currently considering. If you are interested in how this conversation is unfolding, come be with me in the Sanctuary at 6 pm for 45 minutes. Nursery is provided during Wednesday night nurture after dinner. Children’s ministry (toddlers through 5th graders) will begin. Also, Jennifer de la Montagne and Ragan Cook (our new YHC Youth Intern) will meet with all our youth (6th graders through seniors) at THE GATHERING in the lower level of the MAC at 6 pm.

The August Second Mile Giving is going to International Missions support for FUMC missions. You can designate your giving to Orphanage Emmanuel if you like. Two opportunities: 1) support the team projects and expenses, 2) sponsor a Quinceanera girl (our 3rd annual Quinceanera) for $40.
A special note about International Missions; as Acts 1:8 puts it “… to the ends of the Earth”. Travel costs can be a barrier for one of our own disciples to be a part of a team. Please consider this when you are nudged to give.
The Women’s study of FUMC will begin a 6 week study on Elijah on August 22 at 10am in the youth room in the center of the lower level of the MAC.
