Thanks to so many who helped with our Fourth of July celebration last week! (was that just last Thursday?) Your planning, preparation, and hospitality made for a safe and enjoyable evening for the church and community. It is a great example of sharing the gifts and ground we have as a church with the community. We don’t often meet unless we eat, so I also enjoyed some food. Not wanting to leave anyone out, of course, I had some BBQ from the Boy Scouts, cookies from the Girl Scouts, drinks from the Youth, and even some glazed almonds. I also got a history lesson or two from the Sons of the American Revolution. Throughout the evening, our praise band kept things going with quite the repertoire of classic rock and pop and Christian music. Then, at dark, the fireworks were a perfect end to a great night. Thanks again everyone!
A pair of sunglasses has been found from July 4th. If they are yours, you may pick them up in the church office.
Free book bags, school supplies, food, fun and games. All grade levels welcome! Parents: last year this Community event provided backpacks and school supplies for over 400 children in Union County. To register your child in advance go to our website…
FIRST METHODIST… You helped provide many of those backpacks given away. Again this year our church will be collecting primary aged (kgarten - grade 2) backpacks as well as general supplies on the lists attached to the purple drop off boxes located in the MAC lobby and Sanctuary narthex. Thank you in advance for helping provide needed school supplies for children and families in Union County. Another way you can help is through our July “Second Mile Giving” which will be for the “Backpack 2 School Bash”. Drop your donation in the offering plates and label it for “Backpacks”. Any questions or for information on how you can help further call Tricia Wallace at 229-402-9361.
