07-23-2019 FUMC Tuesday Tickle
Sundays and School Daze
What a great day at worship this past Sunday!  We celebrated Terri Mager joining as our newest member. When you see her around church or in the community, be sure to say hello and welcome her to First Methodist. Also, thank you to so many who shared their gifts in song and to Rose Oberlin for serving as our accompanist.
It is hard to believe, but school will be starting in just two weeks. Yes, two weeks! On Sunday August 4, we will have a Blessing of the Backpacks at all three services. So, kids (and parents) remember to bring your backpacks as a sign of the beginning of this new school year. We will pray for you, your parents, teachers, and a lot of other people, too!
See you Sunday,
Blessing of the Backpacks
Sunday, August 4th
all 3 services
Children are to bring their backpacks and lay them down at the altar.
Welcome New Member: Terri Mager 273 Bud Mason Road, Blairsville
Please note that the aluminum can bin is ONLY for aluminum can recycling. It is NOT a generic recycle bin for other items such as plastic. The Methodist Men use the can recycling to help fund their lawnmowing on the campus.
Nursery volunteers are needed during the 8:30 and 11:00 Sunday services. Please contact Donna Fredericks for more info 239 821 0178.
SERVANTS NEEDED! Have you found your place of service here at FUMC? Pray about these opportunities…
  • Media Volunteers are needed (sound & video) for the Media booth at all three worship services.

FIRST METHODIST… You helped provide many of those backpacks given away. Again this year our church is collecting primary aged (kgarten - grade 2) backpacks as well as general supplies on the lists attached to the purple drop off boxes located in the MAC lobby and Sanctuary narthex. Another way you can help is through our July “Second Mile Giving” which will be for the “Backpack 2 School Bash”. Drop your donation in the offering plates and label it for “Backpacks”. Any questions or for information on how you can help further call Tricia Wallace at 229-402-9361.   The need is GREAT!
YAH Back to School “Bunco Fellowship”
Friday, August 9th 6:00pm In the Fellowship Hall
Everyone should bring an appetizer or a dessert. $2.00 per person donation. Bunco has been played in America at least since the 1800’s. It is a game of pure luck; no real skill is required other than rolling dice. The game is played in an upbeat social setting that involves a lot of eating and fellowship so come ready to meet somebody new! Join us!

All proceeds from our Festival go toward retiring our MAC debt. Everybody has a part to play! Start working now! More news coming soon!
