What’s UP at First Methodist

Blessings all! I’m am so excited for all the great things happening at First Methodist. Here are a few of the big and new things that are coming UP this week.

Join us tomorrow night for Wednesday night supper beginning at 5 pm. If you can’t quite make it at 5, show UP when you can. After the meal, there will be gatherings around the church for kids, youth, and adults.

One of those groups is just starting UP and is for moms of our kids and youth. Katie Mashburn is heading this UP and invites you to join her in the MAC after supper tomorrow night at 6 pm.

Also, our children’s ministry invites everyone to Family Movie Night next Saturday, September 7, at 6 pm in the MAC. I’m not sure if licensing allows me to name the movie, but I do hope you will show UP. I know we will. Popcorn and drinks will be available, and you are welcome to bring your supper. Also, blankets, pillows, couch cushions, and camp chairs are welcome and encouraged. Hope to see you there!

Grace and peace.
Don

Weekday Bible Studies!

Men’s Bible Study meets on Tuesday’s at 10:00am in room M-7 (lower level of the MAC). Church Morgan is leading us through a study of 2 Corrinthians. All FUMC men are invited to come and bring a friend.
Ladies Bible Study Begins September 11th… and will meet on Wednesday’s at 10:00am in room M-1 (lower level of the MAC). Ladies will be doing the study “ROMANS… Good News That Changes Everything” by Melissa Spoelstra… We live in a world full of bad news. The media recounts stories of natural disasters, violence, and conflict. In the midst of all this heartbreak, we can’t lose sight of the fact that God has given us good news. We call it the gospel. In this six-week study of the Book of Romans, we will be highlighting the good news about faith, grace, daily life, God’s plan, relationships, and eternity. Whatever bad news we may receive, in Romans we will find good news to encourage and transform us. Mark your calendar!
