7-1-2020 FUMC Words for Wednesday
Many Thanks
Thank you for worshipping with us online or in person this past Sunday. It was great to see so many of you and to know so many others were online as well. As I haven’t done it in this space, I want to thank our Relaunch Team for their work over the past several weeks to help make in-person worship happen. They are:
Jennifer de la Montagne
Kenny Engle
Mitzi Gasaway
Chuck Morgan
Danielle Snider
Emily Stafford
Stan Wallace
Also, we owe a debt of gratitude to Jeremy Bruce who made online worship possible every week (for 3+ months!) during our time away and continues to lead the charge for live streaming our services. If you would like to learn how to help in this new ministry that reaches so many people, let us know in the church office.
Thanks again to all these servants. Let them know your appreciation as well.

2020 “Backpack To School” Update!
Church family… I wanted to give you some information concerning this year’s Backpack 2 School event!
  • We WILL be helping any student that needs backpacks and school supplies, get what they need!!!!!!
  • We Will NOT be holding our large event at FUMC this year. We are very sad about not having the 5th Annual Backpack 2 School at FUMC this year, but there are so many uncertainties at this point.
  • We WILL be working closely with Family Connections on prepacking backpacks with supplies and any previous participant will be contacted…
  • HOW YOU CAN HELP? Financially is the best way this year! As much as I LOVE to shop for school supplies, that is not prudent and we do not want you to either. It cost about $20.00 to purchase and fill a backpack. so ANY amount will help!!! Please mark checks, “Backpacks”
  •  We also felt it was not thoughtful to ask smaller churches to collect this year, as many are facing their own challenges,
SO FUMC… we are counting on you BIG this year! We have already had some of our local community donors commit financially also!
Many thanks to ALL of you who have committed to this event in the past and pray that under our current circumstances we will be able to meet the needs of all the children this school year.
Much Love,
Tricia Wallace
