Good morning First UMC!
What a wonderful day at worship this past Sunday as these seven young people confirmed their faith in Jesus Christ. Along with you, I look forward to how God continues to work in their lives. Be sure to congratulate them!
This fall we will follow a nine-month preaching and worship plan called the Narrative Lectionary. We will begin on September 12 at the very beginning in Genesis, take a broad sweep through the Old Testament this fall, and begin the New Year in John’s gospel as we head toward Easter and beyond. I look forward to taking this journey with you.
Before we get there, we will have a two-part sermon series. This Sunday, August 29, will be The Old Testament in 20 Minutes. And on September 5, you guessed it, The New Testament in 20 Minutes.
Finally, our Bible study will start this Wednesday, August 25, in the Fellowship Hall at 6 pm.
Blessings on your week,
Don
