This Sunday, we will celebrate Pentecost, the gift
of the Holy Spirit to us and to all recounted in
Acts 2. Over the past few weeks, though, we’ve heard about Paul’s ministry and mission from later in Acts.
In my personal reading this week, I’ve been reading the Letter to the Ephesians. In chapter 4, Paul shares his hope for the church there. And it is my hope for the church here. And everywhere.
“I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body
and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all
and through all and in all.”
Join us for worship this Sunday as we celebrate the gift of this same Spirit
that brings new life.
Grace and Peace.
