10-05-2022 FUMC Words for Wednesday
Good morning church,

Don’t forget that today is the last day to drop off a card or love offering for Jennifer de la Montagne before she moves to be closer to family. Thank you Jennifer for your shared ministry among us.  You will be missed!

I imagine there’s not one of us who doesn’t have someone close to us that

was affected by Hurricane Ian last week. If you’d like to support relief efforts in Florida, you will find how to give through the church or directly online just below.  100% of UMCOR funds go directly to relief efforts.

There’s lots going on at First United Methodist this weekend. Of course, the Fall Festival begins Friday. If you have or have not experienced it before, you don’t want to miss it!

This Sunday will be Young Harris College Day. The choir from the college will lead us in worship at the 8:45 and 11:00 am services. Dr. Drew Van Horn will bring greetings and an update from the college, and Rev. Dr. Adam Daniels will preach at all services, sharing a sermon called “Friends for the Journey.”

It’s going to be a great day!

The Bishop’s gathering last night was very informative. If you weren’t able to attend and wanted to, there will be another gathering close by this month. And you don’t have to drive over the mountain. She will be sharing about the United Methodist Church and taking questions at Jasper UMC on Wednesday, October 26, at 6:30 pm.

Finally, here is the latest installment of “Is the United Methodist Church really…”

I hope to see you this weekend.

Grace and Peace.
