01-18-2023 FUMC Words for Wednesday
Good morning church,

There are a couple of new things happening soon at First UMC!

First, Night to Shine returns to an in-person, indoor celebration here for

the first time since 2020, just over three weeks from now on Friday,

February 10th.

Don’t forget that training happens tonight at 6 pm and Sunday at 4 pm in the sanctuary. Volunteers can attend either of these sessions.

Many, many thanks to Scott and Elizabeth Terry who are facilitating the event this year!

Also, a new Sunday School class is forming. There will be an initial interest and information meeting this coming Sunday, January 22nd at 9:45 am in

room M-31 on the third floor of the MAC.

If you are interested, they would love for you to join them.

Thank you for continuing to be the church and seeking and sharing the love of Christ!

Grace and Peace.

Don

Children and Youth Bible Studies begin at 6 pm.

Adult Bible Study will instead be Night to ShineTraining

at 6 pm in the sanctuary.

Next NIght to Shine Training will be Sunday afternoon at 4 pm in the sanctuary.

The Brasstown Community Handbell Choir is recruiting new handbell ringers. No experience is necessary other than the ability to read music. Beginning handbell technique classes start Thursday Jan 19 at 6 pm with practice afterwards from 7 pm to 9pm weekly. Practice is at Oak Forest UMC in Hayesville. We are a fun group of folks who love to ring bells! If you are interested, reach out to Evie Miller at evie.mlr@gmail.com, 469-446-0664 or Linda Sterrett at lkmsterrett@gmail.com828-371-8794.
Please stop by and say a prayer over these quilts. Tying a knot lets the receiver know that people care and that we have prayed for them.
