09-20-2023 FUMC Words for Wednesday

Would You Pray with Me?

There is much that is going on in our lives, in our world, and in our church. It is in trying times that we need the Lord the most. We need his wisdom, guidance, and discernment.

With the upcoming Church Conference and vote on October 9th, I invite you to join me in prayer for wisdom and discernment. Starting tomorrow, September 20th and concluding on Sunday, October 8th, let us join together at 10:09 am and 10:09 pm for prayer. I encourage you to set an alarm, reminder, something to remind you to pray at those times each day. Wherever you are, for as long as you are led to pray, ask for God’s wisdom, discernment and listen for his guidance for your life, your decisions and for his church.

Here is a prayer suggestion that may guide you.

Father, I pray that You would grant me the Spirit of wisdom and discernment so that I may know You better and love You more.

Give me an understanding heart so that I may be open to hear Your voice and hear You say, “this is the path, walk in it.”

Use me I pray, to be Your hands and feet, Your voice and heart, that I may be a channel through which You pour out Your grace to others. May I decrease to nothing so that only Christ is seen in my life. I ask this in the power of the Spirit and in the name of Jesus, in Whose name I pray,

Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

Peace,

Jimmy

Greetings from your Finance Team!  After our most recent meeting, we felt it was important to reach out to you, our Church Family, to update you on the current financial needs.  Did you know:

*     We have 13 people on staff in ministry to our Church Family (not including all music staff)

*     There are 36 HVAC units to heat and cool the church

*     Our monthly mortgage on the MAC is $13,076.99

*     Just like you, we also have utilities, maintenance and upkeep of the building, as well as expenses associated with missions and ministry

To meet our monthly obligations, we need to average $22,000 weekly.  If you are giving, we thank you.  If you are not giving, we ask that you consider it.  Please be in prayer how God is leading you.  Either way, we need and appreciate everyone’s gifts and contributions.
