Looking Back and Looking Forward
What a great day we had on Sunday with Young Harris College worshiping with us! Thank you to the Concert Choir for leading us in worship, President Dr. Drew Van Horn for sharing an update from the campus, and the Rev. Ryan Snider, College Chaplain, for bringing the sermon.
Speaking of the Sniders, be sure to welcome them as the newest members of First Methodist! You may have already seen Ryan and Danielle and their children Eden and Paxton around the church over the past several weeks. Be sure to say hello when you see them on our campus or in the community.
Join us at worship again this Sunday as we begin a series titled, “Questions God Asks Us.” It’s no secret that we have lots of questions for God. Turns out, God has quite a few for us as well. We even heard one last Sunday. We will hear another one this week and maybe even come up with an answer or two. See you then.
Grace and Peace.
Children Present!
Please be aware when you come on campus that the preschool CEC is back in session. This means, SLOW DOWN in the driveway, LOOK for little ones in the crosswalk, and DO NOT come in the wrong way. Parents are dropping off and picking up children in the fellowship hall parking. Please follow the correct flow of traffic and park accordingly. Thank you. The safety of our children is of our utmost importance.
As everyone should know, our Fall festival is right around the corner. We are asking those who can help to come out October 5th to do some campus maintenance. We would like to do some weed whacking, blowing, trimming and maybe some sweeping to improve our curb appeal.
We don’t have a stash of weedeaters so if you can, bring one. Same with blowers and hedge trimmer. The trustees will do their best to have what we need in place, we just need servant hearts. We will assemble under the MAC portico at 9AM and plan to be done by noon. We’ll have coffee and donuts available. As always, thanks in advance for your service.
The Hospitality Committee would like to extend their appreciation for all the food items and support with set up, service and clean up last Sunday at the Young Harris Choir Breakfast. It is an honor serving alongside the generous members of this church. Thank you so much!
